In an important step to grow its partnerships with niche sports federations, and to reach athletes worldwide, EX sports, a blockchain based Sports Collectables Marketplace, announced its exclusive partnership with the IPF (International Powerlifting Federation).
Founded in 1972, the IPF is the premier powerlifting coalition, and is recognized by the General Association of International Sports Federations (GAISF) as well as the International Olympic Committee. The Federation embraces members from over 100 countries and is the largest powerlifting federation globally. To mark the partnership, 800 world games athletes witnessed the signing ceremony of the agreement in Norway, at the IPF World Open Powerlifting Championships, 3 hours before the live broadcast commenced on Eurosport.
The partnership reflects EX Sports’ vision of collaborating with sporting federations to participate in the trading of NFTs, having signed the first partnerships with the JJIF (Ju Jitsu International Federation) and IFMA (International Federation Muay Thai Amateurs) over the past couple of years.
EX sports was always focused on partnering and “supporting niche sports federations”, as said by its CEO, Toli Makris, who also reflected on EX Sports continued progress in the marketplace:
He said: ‘We built EX sports to support the underdogs and allow everyone to tap into new revenue streams that blockchain provides us with. Our vision is to always work with and support niche sports, even though we will sometimes have prime IP deals like we recently announced last month in Dubai for Maradona and other celebrity collaborations. It was an important move for our company but the real vision is to support the smaller federations’.
While niche sport federations get the chance to be part of the blockchain NFT market with EX sports, EX sports in turn benefits from the growth of collaborating with representatives of millions of athletes worldwide. At the IPF World Open Powerlifting Championships, EX Sports’ brand exposure was in full force and it marked another milestone for the platform.
The great news for the fans of EX sports is that, they will soon have the chance to buy collectibles of athletes on the marketplace, with EX Sports participating in all of the upcoming events organized by the IPF.
